It’s always exciting to listen to a new CD by Thorbjørn Risager. Dust & Scratches is the 6th CD in 7 years and contains 11 originals – 9 written by Thorbjorn and the remaining 2 by the newest member in the band, guitarist Peter Skjerning, and with horn arrangements by the band members: Kasper Wagner (sax) and Peter Kehl (trumpet). As usual the music spans from soulblues with funky horns to low-down and dirty blues which is more down-to-earth than ever. And ason all of the CD’s, and on the concerts, the seven-piece live band is backing Thorbjorns ”larger-than-life voice” – although this time, there are a few songs with a smaller lineup, without the horns, and one one track even down to a duo.
