Borne from the Award-Winning Musical Styles of Nils Rurack and PGO (Peter Olach), JACK the Blues found its origin within the Broadjam Music Community. Both artists landed as Leaderboard Finalists at the conclusion of the 2009 Six Pack International Songwriting Competition. And, from that contest experience came the decision to collaborate on a unique musical property.
JACK is a hybrid blend of Modern Blues, Hard Rock Guitars, R&B Grooves with just a touch of Acid Jazz for good measure. Nils is the brains behind the grinding guitars and rhythm tracks while PGO hammers out the lyrics, crushes the vocals and plays some tasteful harp parts.
Peter Olach - PGO: Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, PGO was greatly influenced by the stars of the Motown Sound and legendary soul station, CKLW. Then in 1970, during the heydays of the Detroit Folk Scene, Peter left college to launch his own concert performance, songwriting and recording career.
Nils Rurack: Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, Nils was introduced to the world of music in his early childhood. Listening to Elvis and The Beatles at age 6, he immediately knew he was destined to play guitar. In 1992, Nils set off to college in the Netherlands to continue his study of guitar and popular music. He graduated in 1997. Refining his style after graduating, Nils spent the next several years performing live or in the studio writing and recording before he emigrated to the United States.
